But without fail, first think about researching fundamentally similar products and clarifying your legal situation. Do I want to file for a patent, register a trademark, or have the design protected? Those are all questions that you absolutely should answer for yourself beforehand. Only once the brand and the idea are protected should you then go public. You will be able to tell when your Boot Bananas are ready to be replaced because they slowly turn brown the more they are used, when entirely brown your Boot Bananas are saturated and need to be replaced.These can help to revive an old pair of climbing shoes that have gone nuclear. The odor might not be completely eliminated. But you’ll no longer be receiving dirty looks from across the street. But for optimum performance, incorporate them into your new shoe care routine before your shoes stink. Preventing the bacteria from developing in the first place will keep your shoes fresh longer. But that lingering damp smell that’s particularly common in synthetic shoes is significantly reduced by the bananas – even in the gnarliest of shoes (like those accidentally left in a bag!). These guys definitely work. And they do so using plant extracts, salts, and minerals instead of synthetic chemicals. How Long do they Last? The outer housing is made from home compostable cotton fabric & the product lifespan is up to 12 months. Dry out your Original Shoe Deodorisers from time to time. If you have had a hard training session and they’ve absorbed a lot of foot sweat hang them up to dry in the sun or near a radiator. Everyone sweats different amounts and so it varies from person to person, but we recommend doing this approximately every 1 to 2 weeks. If forgetful have 2 pairs on rotation, so one is always hanging up to dry!
The Boot Banana, on the other hand, really surprised me. It seems to have done a significantly better job at ridding both shoes of the odor. That damp smell that has been haunting this pair of climbing shoes was significantly reduced, if not completely eliminated, with the use of the Banana. There was also a significant improvement in the smell of the sneaker too, and when comparing the shoe spray, it was clear the Boot Banana had worked some voodoo magic with both of these shoes. This seems like a good idea at first. The talc absorbs sweat, stopping it from soaking into the sole and upper of your climbing shoe. There is a problem with this solution, however. After some activity, the sweat and powder combine to make a paste. This can cause the shoe to feel slippery against the skin – not ideal for a climbing shoe. It’s also possible for the sweat and compounds in the powder to mix together to form a solution that damages the textiles in your shoes. Should you Get it? Do not expose your Original Shoe Deodorisers to extreme cold. For example if they are accidentally left in a cold car overnight then follow one of the drying steps above to revive them and give the bananas a squeeze if the cold has caused the ingredients to compact.
Boot Bananas absorb moisture from whiffy footwear, making them perfect to shove in your climbing shoes after a sweaty session. Alexandra Bowers: The mix of different ingredients neutralizes odors and pulls moisture out of the shoe, whereby the interior of the shoes are less susceptible to bacteria. After use, you just hang the Boot Bananas up to dry in the sun or next to a heater. I am sure if this was used more frequently and over a longer duration, like directly before and after using your shoes, the effectiveness of this remedy would improve. That said, this isn’t exactly the hassle-free defuming solution I was looking for. Thankfully, all the ingredients of Boot Bananas Original Shoe Deodorisers are sustainable. Their fragrance uses essential oils. These are plant extracts without chemicals. The most hazardous thing here – the mixture might contain a few sharp lavender stems.If submerged the silica beads will break and the Winter Sports Moisture Absorbers will no longer function effectively. Warning Activated charcoal deodorising inserts have been used for literally centuries, they’re a tried & tested method for removing odours in enclosed spaces. The cotton fabric used has the porosity to absorb moisture but if your shoes are really sweaty you can shake your bananas to release a fine mist of powder to speed up the drying process. Cotton is a wonderful breathable fabric that allows the active ingredients to absorb moisture and neutralise odour. It is however prone to discolour & your Boot Bananas Original Shoe Deodorisers will turn brown over time especially with high frequency use.
