Finally for this week, there is a little treat for those of you with other enthusiastic Warhammer fans in your lives. Previously only available from your local Warhammer store, this range of Christmas-themed goodies are now live on the webstore so that wherever you are, you can bring Da Red Gobbo’s holiday adventures straight into your home. Daemon Prince of Nurgle - A Daemon Prince of Nurgle is a former mortal or Heretic Astartes servant of Nurgle who has accomplished so much for the Plague God that he or she has been transformed into an immortal Daemon Prince. Daemon Princes of Nurgle are lumbering abominations whose unnatural resilience renders them nigh-invulnerable. They are swollen with power, their groaning, corroded armour burst open by the bulging flesh within. Layers of rotting flab and putrid innards spill from their necrotic skin, insulating them against small arms fire, while notions of pain or weakness are long forgotten. Even direct hits from tank-busting weaponry do little to slow these immortal horrors, for though they may punch through the Daemon Prince's body, this will achieve little but spray infected pus and slime across friend and foe alike. Grotesque resilience is far from the only power exhibited by these ascendant beings. Daemon Princes of Nurgle possess the strength to heft a battle tank and hurl it through the air, while every swing of their rusted blades and putrid claws smashes enemy warriors from their feet. Many possess psychic abilities, moulding the energies of the Immaterium to their will and unleashing them in the form of plague outbreaks, torrents of infectious slime, or hideous, wasting hexes. Some Daemon Princes can even fly, enormous insect wings or spiralling vortices of noxious fumes carrying them across the battlefield. Their bodies may exude corrosive spores and deadly viral strains, or form squirming hatcheries for swirling clouds of plague flies.

The best present, as any Nurgle aficionado will tell you, is a whole book full of Grandfather’s foetid gifts. You’ll find everything a diseased disciple could need in this Battletome, including battle traits, command traits, artefacts of power, and spell lores – as well as 27 warscrolls detailing each and every one of Nurgle’s repugnant followers. Great Unclean One - A Great Unclean One is a grotesquely corpulent Greater Daemon of the Plague God Nurgle, the Chaos God of disease, death and decay. These loathsome Daemons are the harbingers of the lord of rot and ruin, and amongst Grandfather Nurgle's greatest servants, bearers of his most sacred plagues and poxes. Their forms are squat and mountainous, covered in rotting flesh and open sores that weep foul rivulets of pus. Hot ropes of intestines dribble out of huge tears in their enormous, bloated and distended bellies. This horrific girth is supported by two impossibly small and atrophied-looking legs, and their inordinately large, bulbous heads are crowned by enormous stag-like antlers. To the mortal eye, a Greater Daemon of Nurgle is undoubtedly the foulest of all the Daemonic servants of the Ruinous Powers. Each of these Great Unclean Ones is shaped in the fashion of Nurgle himself; flyblown, maggot-ridden innards spill into view through the tears and gashes in his swollen belly as he lumbers forwards. Clusters of pustules and weeping buboes erupt from his hide, birthing small swarms of giggling Nurglings. Noxious juices seep from dozens of infected sores, leaving a glistening trail of mucus in the Great Unclean One's wake. Few mortals have the stomach, let alone the will, to oppose such a being. Great Unclean Ones are Nurgle's lieutenants, the field generals of his Plague Legions. As monstrous and horrific as their appearance is, these Greater Daemons are possessed of a paternal affection at odds with this nightmarish form. Gregarious and sentimental, a Great Unclean One takes pride in the achievements of his followers and looks upon all the creatures in his legion as his "children," and his underlings look upon him as an embodiment of Grandfather Nurgle. Each Greater Daemon pays careful attention to all of his followers, and is noticeably proud of their appearance and endearing behaviour. A Great Unclean One takes delight in his minions' smallest boils, revelling in the variety and effulgence of their poxes and heaping praise upon them with vociferous proclamations. With a wave of his arms such a monstrosity sends forth his Tallybands, booming words of encouragement and gurgling guffaws across the battlefield. This boundless energy and drive is possessed by all Great Unclean Ones; constantly working to extend the process of rot and decay, they are heedless of their own comfort while parts of the galaxy still remain untouched by Nurgle's bounty. If this decay comes at the hands of Nurgle, via the thrust of a rusted blade or the unleashing of a supernatural plague, many will curse his name. For those who are unable to see that this pain and suffering lifts the veil that hides the truth of life and death from them, such moments and visions are terrifying. Some blessed mortals, however, are able to look beyond the putrescence and see the decay for what it is -- a gift from the Lord of All.That doesn’t mean he’s any less gruesome, but he’s definitely more capable of exploding your head in a geyser of pus. Yet the adoration of a Chaos God is a strange thing, for Nurgle shows his affection in cruel ways. Nurgle keeps Isha imprisoned in a rusted cage in the corner of his cauldron chamber within his personal manse. It is there that he keeps the cauldron where he mixes the elements that create all of his plagues and pestilences. When the Plague God creates a particularly pleasing brew, he forces Isha to imbibe the putrid mixture, watching with building excitement for the symptoms of his latest contagion. If these maladies and ailments sound appealing, this all-new Vanguard boxed set is an ideal beginning for your own septic spearhead. While the mortal realm is laid waste by blight and pestilence, the lands of Nurgle in the Realm of Chaos thrive on disease and corruption. Tended by the Lord of Decay, this unwholesome realm is home to every pox and affliction imaginable and is foetid with the stench of rot. Twisted, rotten boughs entangled with grasping vines cover the mouldering ground, entwining like broken fingers. Fungi, both plain and spectacular, break through the squelching mulch of the forest floor, puffing out clouds of choking spores.

The Infecticus Legions are the harbingers of infection, the carriers of new diseases that lay the groundwork for the greater virulence to follow. The soupy air of the garden seeped into their lungs, worm-riddled mud spattered up their legs, and white-bodied daemonflies clambered into their mouths. Claimed at last, the Seers' feet took root as their faces hardened into bark. Their arms split and twisted into gnarled branches, each finger hung with ripening Nurgling-fruit. The Seers of Lugganath remain there still, a copse of wailing trees that brighten Nurgle's leisurely walks and strike a note of despair into the heart of Isha, his immortal captive. Such is the fate of those who enter uninvited into the Land of the Plaguelord, for even the generosity of the Grandfather of Plagues has its limit. There’s also a three-game Path to Glory battle report, rules for a Tyranids Army of Renown – the Crusher Stampedes – and a bunch of modelling articles for Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, celebrating its 20th anniversary. Despite his horrific appearance, Nurgle is a warm, welcoming god who prides himself on the achievements of his followers, gifting them with his most hideous diseases even as he protects them from all pain and the cold sleep of death. The fear of death can be found in the hearts of all the sentient beings of the universe, and so there is no shortage of mortals of every species present in the galaxy willing to sacrifice their immortal souls in return for the corrupted preservation of their physical bodies for all time. This pustulent tome contains everything you need to play the harbingers of rot, including battle traits, command traits, artefacts of power, spell lores, and Path to Glory rules. There are also grand strategies, battle tactics, and 27 warscrolls covering all of the revolting denizens of Nurgle’s Garden, both daemonic and mortal. The Land of the Plaguelord is an ever-changing realm, shifting according to the needs and whims of its master. Many areas exist only temporarily, taking shape to allow the Plague God to indulge a particular fancy or to be granted to an especially accomplished Great Unclean One as a reward. Even so, the legends hint that some aspects of this foetid domain remain relatively constant. Nurgle has need of fields in which to plant his crops of blighted herbs, pits to hold the bodies upon which he conducts his experiments, and, most important of all, a gigantic and decrepit mansion in which to store his creations, brew his legendary contagions, entertain guests, and plot the course of the Great Corruption. So those dice remind me of when I dated my step-sister. Pretty to look at, but didn’t feel right when I held them. GW Dice Were All Topsy-Turvy Plaguebearers - Plagubearers are rotting, wasted creatures of vaguely humanoid size and appearance, with a single burning eye. These vile Lesser Daemons form the rank and file of the Plague Lord's pestilent Daemonic legions. Flies continually buzz around them, therefore making them more difficult to fight. The many diseases carried by these Daemons can be used to terrible effect during battle.
