It is a pity the Tower Bible was not the complete version that was obtained and uploaded to the PAS forum but still useful nonetheless. These sets were available in three liveries and featured an 0-4-0 locomotive, paving the way for the hobby. A proper L16/L55 gallery is due at some stage on my L16/L55 page, once I have done all the photo clean-up to accommodate the output from my irreplaceable, battered old camera. The’ Equaliser’, piloted by Dani G-e of Team Renegade went on to win the E2K Winter Series held in Shrewsbury during 2018. Over the last seventy years these structures have become evermore commonplace on the British landscape, yet seldom modelled on home/exhibition layouts.

I’m not looking to race competitively, but looking for speeds around 160mph and something that turns heads, so to speak. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The surface finish is excellent and very thin high aspect ratio wing and cavernous fuselage to take a big motor and battery make this a very fast and impressive economy racer. We are going to need a lot more pylons over the next few years to connect new energy to our homes and businesses and it is important that we do this is in the most beautiful way possible. The blades folded reasonably well when using a GM 32 mm spinner with a GM 30 mm cone, but a larger yoke may be even better.I have done many 'fieldtrips' to different places to bag different designs but my favourites have to be L2s. I did wonder if there was a more complete copy of the tower bible, but I could only find forum comments from others indicating that what they had was also incomplete. The server failure that wiped most of the images out of this topic has destroyed a lot of data that I could have used, but there are still some bits left, like the incomplete portions of the L34 plans. The competition was an astonishing success attracting media coverage from around the globe and 250 entries worldwide, with many prestigious architects and engineers submitting their designs. Bystrup have since worked closely with the National Grid to develop their T-Pylon design further and the first new design of an electricity pylon in almost 90 years has been erected at a site in Nottinghamshire.

There are currently more than 88,000 pylons in the UK, including 22,000 on the National Grid’s main transmission network in England and Wales. The airframe has proven itself to be fast and competitive on the circuit and we hope that it will go on to win many more awards and trophies this year. Yes there a few L4 towers that are used in a modified form usually to replace former PL1 S towers where diversion or replacement has been necessary in the past. The only accessories supplied are bulged aileron servo covers, 2 aileron horns and a 30 mm firewall. Poles or “polons” would be the other route although sadly ready made British outline versions appear to be non existent .To rethink one of the most crucial but controversial features of modern Britain: the electricity pylon. As a result of such inference, the image gets partitioned into a set of segments that may come from different layers of the tree. There are several I can think of on the line that now runs from Runcorn down towards Crewe via Winsford then on towards Stafford although the southern part is largely now gone and I think used to go to Buildwas power station.

Throttle back and it will slow down without any nasty vices which makes it easy to fly and not a problem to land. My objective is to base my work on official material (whether for engineers or stakeholders), to limit reliance on unsourced information. Google Street View from 2009 shows just 132 kV PL16, while Open Infrastructure Map shows 132 kV and 275 kV side by side between Dounreay and Thurso. Generally it’s agreed that many of the tower designs can be too imposing (L2 -L6) ,but there are smaller versions which can blend into many scenes. The ‘Equaliser’ was developed for a local club competition to provide a pylon racer airframe and power set-up that was the same, providing a ‘equal’ platform to let the pilot shine! Not suitable for children under 36 months it contains small parts which can present a choking hazard and some components have functional sharp points and edges. JL Eve (L16 and/or L55) D90, the one I went after — saw it from a train window coming back from last weekend’s hunt; L6 quad lines in the background. For PL1 vs PL1b I will just lump the whole lot in together for now, as nobody seems to have a clue what the difference is. This is a subject that has often made me think as they seem to be a feature close to many railway lines /sites, and never seem to feature. That last photo was taken from up on a hill at Upper Sundon, and to me it the elevation of the vantage point just doesn’t show in a photo.
